Stretch daily for half an hour every morning, when one's ligaments are at its stiffest. Stretch also after every cardiovascular workout, when one's ligaments are at most flexible.
"Throw" one's limbs after stretching (荡腿) en cloche. The use of energy here is somewhat like in the contemporary dance release.
Rest ligaments after stretching in contraction position such as in child's pose.
Assisted Back Stretch
While in cat's pose with relaxed spine, have someone 1.5 times your weight assist the back arch by sitting on your upper back, followed by sitting on lower back. While on your back, the assistant should pull your shoulders backward.
Another exercise is for the assistant to press his hands on your middle back, and then slowly shift his center of gravity onto his hands.
Back Stretch at the Barre
Place the back of one foot on the barre.
Bend backward and reach for the raised foot with the opposite hand.
Imagery: pull the opposite shoulder toward the raised foot.
Yesterday, I learnt that port de bras back should be held from one's abdominal muscles, not just back muscles...
